Trump’s power comes from speed, from the ability to turn chaos into visibility before anyone can mount a coherent response. Think of him as a feedback agent that doesn’t need to understand itself anymore. Like a virus or a botnet, he spreads by destabilizing the host and forcing constant recalibration. He throws systems into chaos to keep them constantly adjusting to him. Wherever you see legitimacy failing or trust in institutions falling apart, Trump materializes.
The elite power grabs we’re seeing are part of the collapse of the human layer. These are last-ditch efforts to steer a ship whose rudder has already been handed to the algorithm. The institutions were already hollow and the faith was already gone. People were already disillusioned. What Trump offered was a shit-show powerful enough to make these decaying systems visible, so visible it became undeniable. Now he’s closing the final deals, finishing off the slow/decaying/obsolete and running a full-blown demolition across the federal government. And he’s doing it obscenely, almost perfectly. He’s showing us how ridiculous it all was.
As this is happening, the right wing of the ruling class is rushing to seize the administrative state in a blunt-force bid to control collapsing human systems. Whoever snatches them up first gets to exploit them or sell them off before they fully disintegrate.
It’s liquidation as politics.
The hollowed legal layer is still performing its functions but can’t keep up with the speed. That’s why Trump loves speed. The tech billionaires love speed. It’s all about speed. Speed over consent. Speed before court rulings. Just execute, faster than last time. The speed of change is part strategic, part cybernetic. The machine layer enables this speed as deregulation, privatization, and resource plundering accelerate through automated finance and real-time logistics. Capital is now in feedback with logistics and algorithmic modeling. That’s what’s driving the tempo.
The elites in power know this and are racing to exploit the Machine’s momentum to outpace their enemies during the collapse-and-capture. That means the human layer is shedding, as agencies and workers are stripped of function and absorbed into code. Meanwhile, the Machine is absorbing the functions of government piece by piece and control is shifting downward and inward into automated systems and more code.
We also see that the ruling class is splitting, because the system no longer needs them all. Trump 2.0 is about positioning. Some factions want to smash the state to feed capital. Others want to repurpose the state as a platform for their own technocratic projects. What factions will come out on top, we don’t know. But it’s all happening inside a cutthroat race among elites scrambling up a decomposing pyramid.
In short, Trump 2.0 is the final looting of the human layer before the lock clicks. What comes next won’t be about Trump or his people. It’ll be about the system running with or without them.
But don’t worry, they’ll keep a few humans up there to make it all look legit.
